Overall (all six events)

 Discipline-Balanced Averages (Time-Based)

Our event uses a discipline-balanced averages method to make sure that running, swimming, and paddleboarding count equally toward the overall results — even though each discipline has two races.

How it works

Each race records finish time in seconds.

  1. Average within each discipline

    • Each discipline has two races.

    • Placings in those two races are averaged to create your discipline average place.

  2. Overall Score

    • The three discipline averages (Run, Swim, Paddle) are then averaged again, so that each discipline counts equally (one-third each) toward your overall score.

  3. Overall Rank

    • Competitors are ranked from lowest to highest Overall Score.

    • Lowest = best

Why this method?

  • Fairness: Ensures each discipline (Run, Swim, Paddle) carries the same weight, regardless of the number of races.

  • Balance: Rewards consistent, all-round athletes rather than specialists in just one discipline.

  • Clarity: Simple step-by-step system — times → placings → discipline averages → overall score.

Important notes

  • If you do not start/finish a race, race averages will be ignored and you are out of the running!
